30 Day Song Challenge – Day 16 – A Song That’s A Classic Favourite

Today’s challenge invites us to share a song that’s a classic favourite.

I have no idea what this means. Seriously, I’ve been thinking about it all day, and I have no idea.

So, here’s my favourite Beatles cover, “Dear Prudence” by Souixie And The Banshees

  1. What’s a classic? For me, it’s a song that’s still popular 25 years after its release.

I’ll submit another Beatles cover. I love the instrumentation (organ and chimes) on this version.

  2. This qualifies, for me, on both counts. It’s definitely a classic, and perhaps my very favorite song by the group (but ask me another day and I might answer differently). Plus, this version has the super-duper added bonus of being a teaching tool for Spanish 😀 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl-s-WhTh80

  3. Great version of one of my all time favorite songs. I remember going through hell learning to play that riff for “Dear Patience”

  4. Of course, in typical me fashion, I made it even more confusing by picking a cover for classic. That was entirely unintentional.

  5. Let’s bring on a classic that’s a foundation of the genre: Buddy Holly’s “Not Fade Away”. The Bo Diddley beat isn’t his, or really Bo Diddley’s either (it goes back to traditional African rhythms), but unlike many white artists who covered blues songs without credit, he wrote this one himself.

  6. There is just something about this song I will always love https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQrgeeS_qbo

  7. I have until tomorrow to think about it. Hubby Chuck and I had a convo about what “classic favorite” meant. I still haven’t chosen.

  8. How about Neil Young ‘ s Old Man song? I love that song!

  9. I told a friend last night that the question would be covers, and he introduced me to this cover, which also conveniently happens to be a “Classic” song that I also like. So, here’s my Classic contribution:

  10. I’m in a Mamas and the Papas mood today, so I”m going with this one.
