Ring of Sedation

Ring of Sedation
by Rob Wynne
TTTO: “I Wanna Be Sedated” by the Ramones

Twenty-twenty-twenty-four hours to fall
Into a ring of fire
I’m going down, can’t do nothing at all
As the flames go higher

And it’s burning, burning, burning
Love is a firey ring
I have a wild desire
it makes a burning ring
I fell for you like a child
Now I can’t do anything
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh!

Ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba-ba
Into a ring of fire
Ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba-ba
Into a ring of fire
Over on rec.music.filk, David Okamura writes about a website he found with “tinklepop” karoke tracks of popular songs.

> You got off easy, Karen. I foolishly sampled most of those tunes, so
> tinklepop "Ring of Fire" alternated with "I Want to be Sedated" in the
> back of my mind for the rest of the day.

And this came out…
My mind is a curious place. 🙂

  1. I am *not* a cat. That kind of curiousity burns through lives pretty quickly… 🙂

  2. Robert, you are a truly sick and twisted individual, and I love you madly for it. That is a high-larious insta and I may well have to finish it if you don’t. 🙂

    • I’m not sure that it isn’t finished. Neither song really has a copious amount of lyrics, and by the time you’ve done one round of it, the joke’s done.

  3. It’s perfect! Record it, quickly -- before it causes a new law to be passed against it. I’d love to hear this on 100.7 FM one night.

    Vila

  4. And vice versa…

    Twenty four hours to go
Nothing to do, no where to go
Hurry up, get me on a plane
    Hurry before, I go insane

Oh Oh I, want to be sedated
Bam bam bam, I want to be sedated
I can’t control my hand or brain
    I’ll go insane

    🙂

  5. You are so weird.

  6. Sorry, I stopped at the mental image of a snoring adventuring party lying in a dungeon 10 x 10 room with a shiny new ring on the low-wisdom warrior’s hand.

  7. I think I hate you now.

(Not to worry, it won’t last.)
