From last night’s AD&D session:

“The journey of a thousand mohels begins with a single snip.” –me

(Context is enormous and will very likely kill us all….)

  1. And I thought I understood English…

    • Wouldn’t help, it’s Yiddish 😉

    • The mohel (which rhymes with “oil”, so “mohels” sounds like “miles” said with a strong accent) is the guy who actually performs the circumcision at a bris. I assume you’re familiar with the famous saying “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

  2. Hee! 🙂 Wish I could have been there. 😉 (“Eeep!”)

  3. And now I’m thinking of Al Franken on SNL.

    “He only took tips.”

  4. Context is enormous and will very likely kill us all

And here’s me, always been told size doesn’t matter… 😛

    • When it gets a +12 size modifier on its grapple check, trust me, it matters quite a lot.

      • A mohel making a grapple check against someone with a +12 size modifier can only mean one thing: we know the kid’s name.

        . o O ( o/~ He’s a lumberjack and he’s okay, he’s got an ox and its name is Babe… o/~ 😉

  5. I’m really having trouble imaging the D&D game where that could be said in character and make sense…
