Thought for the Day…

“The effects which follow too constant and intense a concentration upon evil are always disastrous. Those who crusade, not for God in themselves, but against the devil in others, never succeed in making the world better, but leave it either as it was, or sometimes even perceptibly worse than it was, before the crusade began. By thinking primarily of evil we tend, however excellent our intentions, to create occasions for evil to manifest itself.”

  1. i love Aldous Huxley. Two summers ago, i read Brave New World and Island. i really fell in love with his style and vision. i didnt realize he had written other things. Guess i need to check out The Devils of Loudun now. How are you doing, BTW?

    • Huxley wrote a great deal more than a lot of people realize. I once had a biology textbook that was written by Herbert G. Wells, Thomas Huxley and Aldous Huxley, but I lost it along with the rest of my books in the fire.

I’m doing alright. Day by day, a little better. My world slowly becomes a brighter place. Thanks for asking about me. 🙂 *HUG*

  2. “Gaze not into the abyss….

….for the abyss gazes back into you.” Very true; this explains a lot of what I saw in the religion of my birth.
