Remember

How do I tell you
that it will be alright?
If I stand silent, it isn't that i have nothing to say
But only that the right words are hard to find.
I want to say the right words --
words that comfort and heal and assure
and help you understand.

The things you were taught,
and the memories you treasure,
These will remain with you for so long as you live.
Our flesh is too fragile and small to contain all we are inside;
So we entrust parts of ourselves to others
That we might remain behind
When at last our journey here must end
And another journey beckons

There is a bond between people who love
greater than distance or time.
Even when they have gone, for now or forever,
Some part remains for us to hold. And remember.
We are never truly alone,
so long as we love and are loved --
they are with us always.
